Creating Advertising Flyers in Word.

In class, we just learned how to create an advertising flyer. We had to choose a topic and create a Public Service Announcement(PSA). My topic was underage drinking. In my flyer, I included many facts about the harmful effects of drinking alcohol. I also included the consequences of underage drinking. I was able to use so many different tools on Microsoft Word that really helped me make the flyer my own. Hopefully, my PSA can influence other teens to wait until they are the legal age to drink.

Viral World

In the viral world module, I learned about computer hacking and identity theft. It showed me the situation of a boy's social media account being hacked. The hacker was posting lies and making everybody believe that the boy was saying them. I learned, from this scenario, that you should always tell a parent so they can solve the problem right away. The module also taught me how to make secure password and what to keep private on social media. I will be thinking about this module the next time I make a social media account.

Wireless Communications

In the wireless communications module, I learned about many things that could go wrong with your wireless phone. One of these things is texting while driving. The module showed me a scenario where two friends were in a car and the driver was texting. It taught me how to handle that type of situation and what could go wrong. Another thing that it taught me was what to do if an embarrassing photo of yourself gets leaked. I will definitely be using this knowledge in the future and found it very helpful.

Choosing a Computer

In the choosing a computer module, I learned about the hard drive of a computer. The hard drive stores programs, software, and data that you save to your computer. For example, mp 3 files(music), word processing documents and even computer games. I also learned about the CPU which stands for central processing unit. It is the brains of the computer. This information will help me in life by guiding me on how to choose a computer in the future.

Blogs of Interest

One blog that I am interested in is called Zoella. It is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog and it was made by one of my favorite youtubers, Zoella Sugg. When blogging, Zoella talks about very girly things such as makeup and clothes. She even sells some of these things. Another blog I am interested in is a dance blog called Dance Advantage. It talks about what to do if your nervous about anything dance related and gives you tips about how to improve yourself. As a dancer, I find this blog very useful and will also attach the link down below.

What I've Learned About Blogs

With the Google application Blogger, I have learned so many new things. I never thought I would be able to create my own blog but now I have my own personal page where I can talk about anything. Some things I've learned include how to make posts, how to customize the design of a blog, how to add interactive links and how to upload pictures and videos. The experience of making one has been very helpful and will be beneficial to me later in life. I recommend that everyone make a blog for themselves.

My First Week at Curtis High School - Fall 2014

My first week back at Curtis was great. I like all of my classes and teachers. My favorite class so far has been Dance Survey. It's very fun and allows me to do the thing I love most, dance. The swim season has also started which i am very excited about! I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
